Aditya Vamsikrishna Mandalika is a talented Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington with a passion for developing motion planning algorithms for robots to solve complex tasks in real time. With a research interest that lies at the intersection of planning and learning, Aditya's work focuses on search-based geometric motion planning and decision-making under uncertainty for robotics applications. Aditya has recently found a passion for integrating planning and learning frameworks to design algorithms that allow robots to navigate extremely cluttered environments. He also enjoys deploying his algorithms on real robots that perform tasks such as assistive feeding. Currently, Aditya is a Software Engineer at Aurora, where he is leveraging his expertise in software engineering, research, and infrastructure to develop cutting-edge technologies. Prior to this, Aditya worked as an Applied Scientist Intern at Amazon Robotics AI, where he contributed to the motion planning infrastructure to enable automation at fulfillment centers. Aditya holds a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Science from the University of Washington, where he also earned his Master's degree in Computer Science. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras and his high school education at TRIPS International School, Rajahmundry. Aditya's technical skills include software engineering, research science, and infrastructure. With 1.79 years of relevant experience, he has proven himself to be a valuable asset to any organization he works with.
